One of the historic and most selective units of Italy, "Col Moschin" has an operational tradition that dates back to the Arditi of 1917 and continues to the modern Italian Special Forces.

The unit's origins lie in the Arditi of the First World War, assault units specialized in rapid, close-quarters operations. From there, a tradition was born that continues to the modern special operations of the Esercito Italiano: deep reconnaissance, direct action, target acquisition, and operations in complex environments.

9th Parachute Assault Regiment "Col Moschin", this name derives from the 1918 battle on Col Moschin (Monte Grappa), in memory of the determination and extreme conditions combat during the Great War. Today it is a Special Forces (FS - TIER 1) unit, tasked with high-risk special operations: raids, advanced reconnaissance, hostage rescue, and deep-sea missions.
