The “PJs” are the Pararescue Jumpers of the U.S. Air Force, a Combat Search and Rescue unit. Trained as paratroopers, special operators, and rescuers, they are tasked with recovering and extracting isolated or injured personnel in enemy territory, often operating in extremely extreme conditions.

“We’re all mad here.” is the famous phrase uttered by the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland, which has become a self-irony symbol of nonconformity and belonging to an unconventional group.

It's no coincidence that this motto has been adopted in the tactical world: those who face extreme selections, endless training, and high-risk missions are often seen as "crazy" by outside observers. For those who live extreme conditions on a daily basis, however, it is the strongest and most distinctive shared trait of team spirit.

This patch is a knowing nod to those people who voluntarily choose to continually challenge themselves.
