The 4th Alpine Paratrooper Regiment is a unit under the command of the "Comando delle forze speciali dell’Esercito Italiano", specializing in operations in mountain and arctic environments. The Regiment, composed exclusively of highly trained and equipped volunteer personnel, has the prerogative of being paratroopers in the mountains, combining the best operational skills of the two specialties: Alpine troops and paratroopers.

The A.P. Battalion "Monte Cervino", heir to the traditions of the Alpine Skiing Battalion "Cervino", is the operational component of the 4th Alpine Paratrooper Regiment. Its members hold the Ranger qualification, dedicated to special reconnaissance, target acquisition, direct action, and operations in harsh environments where mobility and adaptation are essential.
